    Downloads misdirected

Downloads have always gone to the download account inside my user account unless I specifically directed the sender to use a different location. I don`t know why but ICO Converter has started downloading to another destination, The location doesn`t seem to be on my computer. I looked in OneDrive and on Google Drive and do not see any record of the downloads. Is there a setting in Windows that determines where download are sent?

I've found downloading from the Internet and saving is controlled by settings in the Internet Browser. I use Firefox the most and have it set to save to a Data partition on my HDD. Look in Tools, Options, Preferences, whichever your Browser has.

    Hello again KCav45

If you use Chrome: Change Download Folder Location in Google Chrome for Windows

Similar instruction apply for Firefox, etc. Let us know if you need further help.

I am using Chrome and it is set to C:/kcav/default That is where I want downloads to be sent

Why is ICO Converter behaving different? Maybe I should use Process Monitor and log the events?

I don't know what ICO Converter is - does it not have the ability to specify a default download location then?

The only ICO Converter I can find is an online converter. As such, the default to display or save is dependent on your browser settings. FF seems to save your preferences individually for each website. When I first tried using it the default offered was to Open in Photos.

Having now saved as a file, it will default to 'save' next time for ICO Converter. And whether you are asked, and where it will be saved is also browser-dependent. I have my FF set up to always ask what to do with a download.

The ICO Converter converts image files into ICOs. I like to snip logos, paste the snip into Paint and output a PNG file. Then convert the PNG to an ICO and save it to my Pictures Library. This procedure allowed me to use the ICO as an icon on folders that become items on a menu. The procedure worked fine until suddenly the ICO Converter started sending the files else where, where and why I don't know.

Not the one I found and tried, but having tried yours the same comments apply. How and where the download is saved depends entirely on the settings of you browser, check yours in case they have changed. How you do that depends on the particular browser, which one are you using?

When I use the Opera browser online ICO Converter downloads to my default folder. When I use Google Chrome it goes somewhere else. Wonder if this has some thing to do with OneDrive?
