Can't install HP Support Assistant

    Try disabling LUA. Hit Windows Key + R Type regedit. Follow this path. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System On the right side locate EnableLUA Double click on EnableLUA and change the value to 0. Reboot and try the install.

    I'm trying to install HP Support Assistant, it isn't already installed

    Refresh as in System Restore Or a Clean Install? At some point you'll find yourself at this impasse. This is the Way...

    HP Support Assistant once trashed my laptop. I now use the superior utility HP Image Assistant which is for HP 'commercial' PCs which includes my HP ProBook https://support.hp.com/gb-en/document/c05820785

    HP image assist replaced HP softpaq download manager.

    Unfortunately there are business models that can only use image assist with older Windows versions.

    If an end user upgrades to 1903, 1909, 20H1, 20H2, etc. then the only remaining option for HP software is HP support assistant.

    Clean install and I was able to install HP support assistant.
