Can't install HP Support Assistant

When I click on setup.exe in the C:\SWSetup\sp101214 folder it says please login with administrator rights before installing HP support assistant. The thing is I'm logged in on an Administrator account and even tried running it in administrator mode by right clicking on the file selecting properties, then compatibility then run this program as administrator, but still get the same message, any advice is appreciated.

Windows version: 20H2 (OS Build: 19042.870) with all available updates

Another thing I might try is to check if any of the system files have been corrupted. You can do this by running Command Prompt or Powershell as an admin then typing:

sfc /scannow

After that, you can check if the program was blocked by Windows. Windows sometimes does this when things are downloaded from the internet. Right click on the file and click properties. At the bottom of that Window, you will see a check box saying the program is blocked. This only shows up if the program has been blocked. If it hasnt, you wont see it at all. If it has, click to unblock the file and try again.

I do have an antivirus installed Norton 360, but I don't think it is blocking the setup program from running.

Running sfc/scannow brought this up when it completed

I checked an Windows isn't blocking the program from running I did what you said to do and there was no box saying it was blocked.

None of these work I have tried right clicking and selecting run as administrator and even right click on the file, click properties then run as administrator and it didn't work.

To install the Support Assistant you could use the built in Admin. Open a CMD and put this in net user administrator /active:yes Reboot and log into the Admin account and run the install. This is just a work around and not a fix.

Tried it, but get the same message when trying to install
