permanently hide windowed application on startup

I don't understand all this.

I thought the OP wanted to hide the LogiOptions App not stop the LogiOptions background tasks from running. The OP certainly wants to leave the LogiOptions background tasks alone.

I only use the LogiOptions App to configure my mouse options. I can then exit it when I am done. The mouse configuration seems to be maintained by the LogiOptions background task.

LogiOptions does not show anything at computer startup. It just quietly hides in the background. The only time I have seen it make itself known are by these notifications:

• There is a new update for the Logitech Options software
• The mouse battery is low

The OP was wanting to hide the LogiOptions App which is something separate from the background tasks. I still don't know why he wants to keep it running since the LogiOptions background task should handle things.

I have used a lot of Logitech mice over the years with MouseWare, SetPoint and more recently Options. Once the software has been installed it just quietly sits in the background and works with the Logitech mice. I have never had to manually start anything unless I wanted to change the configuration. When done I would just close the program. All configuration changes would be maintained by the background tasks that are not visible.

Tray icons are often generated by 1 particular exe in the installation folder, and are meant to provide some useful options of course. If that is too disconcerting for @tententwenty then I suggest looking in that folder, and seeing what renaming it does.

I apologize if I am intruding here. For me Logitech Options has never been in the tray. If I run it all I can do is minimize it to the taskbar if I want. That is why I have to search for it to run it. When I am done I close it and it and it is gone from the taskbar until I need to change something again. That might be a year later.

BTW, I have a Logitech MK550 keyboard/mouse combo with a common unifying receiver. It comes with a Wireless Keyboard K350 and a Wireless Mouse M510. It had to install SetPoint for the keyboard and Options for the mouse. SetPoint installed a tray icon while Options did not. That makes it easy to check the status of they keyboard. I have to search for and run Options separately to check the status for the mouse.
