Double-clicking on an ISO file will not mount it if ISO is associated with 7-Zip.
You can mount ISO with double click??

I guess I never used this because in earlier version of Windows it would show "burn to CD" dialog which I hated so much lol

Yes, I always can. Can't you? Try it yourself; see for yourself.

I think everyone can. It's just not something most people try, myself included.

Generally I assume... left click to "run" and right click for other choices.

Shift + right-click gives you additional options.

Running an ISO file = mounting it =showing the contents

Yeah, I know. Like I said, I don't think very many people think of ISOs as being able to be... "run".
Generally people put ISOs on DVDs or USB sticks.

Yes, or single if that's what you have set as the default for OPEN. This will work because "Mount" is the top default option for a file type .ISO. It will not work if you have another program installed that has set it's own default associations and taken precedence. Such as 7-Zip, and others. Then you need to right-click and open with Explorer. Results are the same.
