forcing apps to startup in windows even if disable in task manager

    hello everyone!

maybe somebody know way to force the windows run automatically a specific program or app even if i run task manager and in startup tab i disable it?

i mean to add for example in registry here:

    Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

the word to run when windows startup, and even if i or the user select disable in the tab "startup" in task manager - even that - the windows will continue to run it?

i don't want to disable the task manager.

    2. or, are its possible to block the startup tab in task manager?

    many thanks.

You could launch it using a scheduled task, via a simple script... add a startup entry in the registry in a different place...

I don't have MS Word installed myself.

Open the task scheduler and create a basic task with an appropriate action (path to your desired exe) and set a suitable trigger e.g. at logon.

What Task manager does to disable a task from running is really very simple. It just removes it from the registry or startup folder. But before it does that it makes a note that this was done so it can be shown as disabled making it possible to enable it at a later time. Otherwise it would disappear from Task Manager and you would have to manually create the entry.

This does not in any way prevent the task from running. You can run it by any means you choose.

But why not just enable it in Task Manager? Otherwise you are just complicating things. Windows won't be confused but you or someone else might be. Unless you have some specific reason to do it that way.

    hello LMiller7!

many thanks for your good willing to help me.

my English is not good - as you can see, and therefore i don't understood you very well.

i will try to explain my wish more cleary.

so, i want to install the OpenDNS Updater - that will update my IP anytime.

so, after the install - its adding this file to the startup list.

but, i see in the startup tab in task manager, that Easily i can disable it there - simply select this and select disable.

my question is - how i can to prevent disable it and forcing the windows to run it when startup the windows?

or it possible to blocking the startup tab in task manager?

    many thanks in advance!

I think we've answered that. For some very odd reason you wish to disable it in the task manager, but have it run at startup.

Same answer as above. Applies to pretty much any program.

I don't really see why you wish to do what you're doing though. Probably I just can't understand what you mean.

    i try again to explain:

i want that the program opedns updater will start when windows is start.

i install the program. after that, the installer add this program in registry to the list that will run when start.

now, i see that the user can disable it that the program WILL NOT run when windows is start. can disable it in the startup tab is task manager.

i want that the user will CAN'T disable it and forcing the windows to start it when windows is start.

to prevent the user disable it.

Could I suggest you type that in your native language and use Google translate please?
