Latest version of Your Phone app *appears* to have fixed the problem.

Hello guys i just registered here to say that this is definitively NOT fixed as of today. The worst thing is the process reappears after you kill it. in a matter of two days it can get up to 1 GB RAM i size. As someone who leaves its computer on 24/7 this is awfull. I managed to block the process with glary utiņities windows process manager but the manager needs to be open so that it can block the process so its not a solution either...

I've not actually had the problem since a recent update, no huge RAM allocation now. Which version of the app do you have?

Hi i'm on version 1.21042.110.0 Actually i have found a much better program called myphoneexplorer wich is free. Its really great and i truly recommend it so now i just want to uninstall windows phone explorewr but cant find how to do this. anyways i will keep an eye on this matter as i really liked the windows UI for this program but right now myphone explorer does everythimg better. Good synchronization, choose to link phone over wifi, bluethoot, cable etc. it works really fast and consumes nothing resource wise.

I'm on version 1.21072.161.0 and leak is happening.

But I see it in virtual memory. I just closed it with 4.5 GB of virtual memory allocated.

Which is even worse than leaking RAM, since it's degrading my SSD with virtual memory god knows what for.
