The Calendar app allows you to set events.
I use Cortana with this build (1903) to set reminders which are recorded on the Calendar.
However this has limitations and Cortana's role here changes in subsequent builds.

Nothing wrong with Windows built in Calendar App. I use it all the time for reminders, birthdays, things to do, etc.
Agreed. The built-in Calendar app is a good event reminder.
