Snipping Tool

On my new Dell Inspiron laptop, in Windows 10, I've assigned the Snipping Tool to the Print Screen key.
Very convenient, but now I am not asked to save the image before exiting.
How do I restore that option?

Click on Options and look for 'Prompt to save snips before exiting'.

In my original message I forgot to mention that I had already checked 'Prompt to save snips before exiting'. But it doesn't work. Sorry for neglecting to state that.
Any other ideas?

How did you assign the snipping tool to the PrtScn key? Did you use a 3rd-party app to do it?

...but if I use the standard Windows method given in that tutorial and assign the snipping tool to a function key such as F10, then I still get prompted to save on closing it.

In your tutorial, your Option 2 is the way I did it. I did select "Prompt to save snips before exiting". I still get no prompt to save.
This is the most recent procedure I tried:
Start - Snip&Sketch - Settings (under the three dots) - select "Use the PrtScn button to open screen snipping". And select Auto copy to clipboard. Also turn on "Save snips, Ask to save my snip before closing".
Close and restart machine.
That should do it. But it doesn't.
Now when I use snip (by clicking Print Screen) it auto copies to the clipboard but still does not ask to save the snip.
I can't reproduce the procedure in Bree's png image (in post #4, ... tutorials... #option2) because in the properties window for file %windir%\system32\SnippingTool.exe, the Shortcut tab does not exist(!).
So the problem remains.
I haven't tried your Option 3 since I don't feel comfortable messing with the Registry. What I've done so far really should work.
Again, I'm on a new Dell Inspiron laptop with Windows 10, and all its latest updates.
