    Haven't experienced this before:
Ask Cortana to play 'xxxxx' and she'll play every song in your library that has that word in the title.

I am not allowing her out of recycle jail until she promises not to use my cpu and ram without permission, she is currently charged with theft.

YES it was a bit of a chow stopping it then deleting the file so safe mode where she don't hang out was the easiest option to send her to the big speech therapist in the sky.
Well, like I said, if you take ownership of the folder and then deny everything to every user or group listed that isn't human, Cortana is unable to run, and you can then do what you want without booting into safe mode. I didn't delete anything, because that's harder to reverse if I ever need to, but I did rename the folder (added ".bak" to it) as an extra measure.

Do me a favour check your task manager and see if she's still there.

It's good for scheduling events/appointments in the calendar app on Windows. "Hey Cortana, add doctor's appointment to my calendar for September 3rd at 1pm" is about as specific as I think you can get. If you have no use for that or the "Remind me" command then no I don't really see Cortana as all that useful yet. If you keep the weather and such apps out of your start screen/menu then it might give you a quicker way to find that stuff out. It's a pretty decent app launcher I've noticed though.
Now Microsoft knows about your doctors appointment....

No, it's on a server somewhere it'll never be looked at. Ever heard of information overload?
