Hello all.
My new Lenovo laptop works fine so far, except for one issue. When I run WMP the CPU usage goes to 100%. It seems the culprit is a Windows Driver Foundation process. What can be done (if anything) to remedy this problem.
Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

idgat, I've used VLC and the default W10 media player and they both function fine and as expected.
Yes, VLC is great and I've used it for years and will continue to do so, but my concern at the moment is to understand and perhaps resolve my new machine's behavior. It seems that any time someone has any kind of media player issue, the standard response is always "Just use VLC."

It's not necessarily your machine at fault here.
You can either use VLC as others have suggested or perhaps Groove.Windows Media Player 12 is the most recent version of Windows Media Player. It was released on October 22, 2009 along with Windows 7 and has not been made available for previous versions of Windows nor has it been updated since for Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10]
I myself pretty much disable windows media player and always use Daum Potplayer or GOM Player are 2 great ones. I understand you want to figure out the solution, but sometimes trying to figure out the solutions can take hours or days of our lives away form us, In this case its easier to just use a different player. MHO. However if you figure this out for you please post the solution that worked for you.
