    Can I move a special driver to the corresponding prog install.folder?

    Assume I install a program with the "normal" setup package.
    The setup.exe does not only copy the files into the main installation folder but also some special drivers into
    the official Windows directories

    C:\Windows\
    or
    C:\Windows\System32\
    or
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64\

    No Registry changes are made.

    Now I want to make the program portable.

    Can I somehow move the driver files e.g. "myprog123.sys" to the installation folder and let Windows resp. the program search them there (at first)?

    Putting a dot in front of the PATH environment variable:

    PATH=.;someotherpathes

    does not help.
    Any other solution?

    At the end I would like to put everything on an USB flash drive and run the program on various computers without installation.

    Hi, if you wish to attempt to create a portable version of a program there are tools that claim to do this.
    Have a look:

    Maybe one can help you.
