Looking for offline file converter

Is there a free app that would allow me to be offline, but be able toconvert a file from one format to another? So far, I’ve only beenable to complete this task online, and I’ve been usingwordtojpeg.com to convert text documents into photo format. Thatsite can do other conversions as well. But at home, I don’t haveinternet access and was hoping there was a free app I could downloadand use while offline to do the conversions. I thought I discoveredI had it when I found a conversion feature in Adobe Acrobat, but whenI tried it, it indicated I had to be online to make it work.
