    cannot run an exe file in CMD administrator

    From exe file property ===> check: Run this program as an administrator

    open cmd: run as adminitrator

    type cd ==> enter

    C:\Users\MYNAME\Downloads\Programs\Apps\Viber Setup ==> Enter

    ===> 'C:\Users\MYNAME' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
    ****NOTE: UserName is replaced by "MYNAME''' because it is my personal name, so I changed it. When I typed in cmd, I used the exact UserName. It was changed when I posted it here

    "MYNAME" is your username in users
    cannot run an exe file in CMD administrator-image.png

    Open File Explorer go to the directory where your program is .
    Rightclick on the exe file and choose Run as Administrator.

    OK, you need to Replace MYNAME with your UserName.

    To check your UserName, type this into a Command Prompt and press Enter . . .

    Code:
    echo %UserName%

    You will also need to include the .exe at the end of the Program Name [ Viber Setup.exe ].

    I hope this helps.

    And... just in case - first right-click on the downloaded exe, choose Properties then put a tick in the Unblock checkbox, click on Apply... then OK to close the dialog:

    cannot run an exe file in CMD administrator-unblock.png

    Hope this helps...

    Hello @join,

    Have you Relocated your Desktop to another Partition or Disk?

    Viber Setup is a folder name.

    OK. You need to get the name of the .exe file from within that folder then and use that.

    If you are sure the folder exists, try typing "cd %userprofile%\Downloads\Programs\Apps\Viber Setup".

    replace:
    C:\Users\MYNAME\Downloads\Programs\Apps\Viber Setup

    with:
    "C:\Users\MYNAME\Downloads\Programs\Apps\Viber Setup.exe"

    Note that you want to enclose path in quotes.

    If MYNAME includes a space or any symbol character then I agree with zebal.

    In File explorer, browse to C:\Users\ and check that your MYNAME subfolder is called what you think it is called.
