    Files wrongly named

    Running W10 [Version 10.0.18363.1316]
I have ripped a load of my CD's ... on a couple of them, the details are wrong ..... on every track it has wrong
    Name, Title, Contributing Artist, Album
I assume it must have dragged down wrong entries from the on-line database.

I can change file name easy enough ... but how do I change the Title, Contributing Artist, Album ... they stay 'greyed' out when you click on them so can't change.
Is there a utility .. or simple way to do this?

You haven't mentioned which program you used to do the Rip, hard to make suggestions. I haven't such had a problem with Windows Media Player in Ripping over 200 CDs, I Rip as .mp3 so I can copy to iPod type devices.

I just searched for you and came across this > Edit Properties of Files

    I hope this helps.

I have found out how to edit ..... but it also seems the database on Groove Music is screwed up the 'albums' and tracklists do not match the albums in my 'My Music' folder

The CD's were ripped using FairStairs CD Ripper

Can I force a refresh/resynch of the Groove Music database

A dumb question on my part, were you inserting a disc, ripping, removing disc, inserting...? Reason for asking, I found out my ripper mixed up information when I did not clear the previous info from the previous disc, ie refresh, before ripping the next disc. This is on my Windows 7 laptops.

Its more than possible ........ though looking at this I don't thinks its my doing afterall.
All of the tracks which are wrong are .wma format
    Whenever I rip I save as 256kb mp3

I will have to manually edit each one ..... but Groove database seems to not like new 'Albums' and is keeping 'old' ones even though I deleted them.

So the faulty 'rips' have been given to me by someone .... maybe as you said by wrongly accepting CD data from on-line database and not clearing previous

Yes, this is more likely than not the case.

Unfortunately, other than getting the person who created them to redo them for you, the only way to correct these is to manually edit them, a pain I know.
