Lowly laptop with older intel processor - no problems

Seems unlike others I'm always hideously unucky with AMD stuff.

I wondered what this was all about, so had a go - it seems my Ryzen 3-2200G is also not supported. I get this:
ZOOM your AMD priocessor does not meet spec for virtual background-zoom-virtual-background.png
Following the on-screen help button led me here:
System requirements for Virtual Background – Zoom Help Center
and I find it all rather confusing! But I can see I need a Ryzen 5 or above. Oh well...

    Hi there
    Thanks !!!
I'm now going to buy myself a hideously expensive nice new machine with those nice brilliant new INTEL processors demo'ed at CES as soon as they are available.

Probably bonkersly expensive -- but (I shouldn't be saying this) working remotely during the covid-C19 crisis I've saved a whole unbelievable amount of money -- so why not inject some of it back into businesses again.

Whatever ones politics we do need to get economies functioning again - so a nice Intel i11 or whatever --early 2021 XMAS pressy !! as soon as the hardware comes out.

Do stay safe everyone -- thank goodness vaccines this year will put the end to this whole disaster zone -- although even when it's over there's no way in a million years I'd eveer do 5 days a week again "On Site". !!! especially as my typical trips are from Iceland to Brussels, Paris, Berlin or Amsterdam and before BREXIT (OK that's UK's electors to decide - not me the UK.

I suspect over the whole planet people will gladly relish 5 days a week commute -- those "Boring Corporate huge towers in the sky" will become a bit redundant and cities will become much more friendly "Villagey" neighbourhoods without those big scryscapers etc chucking out small businesses etc and leaving streets desolate at night as "the Office Ants" leave their nests and go back home from these to their dormitory suburbs.

    Cheers

The ryzen 5,7, and 9 series CPU's are supported.
@jimbo45...what AMD processor are you currently using?

I have flip flopped back and forth over the years between Intel and AMD without any issues. My previous AMD boxes were back in the Pentium4 days, and I had the Athlon X2 64 CPU's and they were awesome. Since that time, it's been nothing but Core i3,i5,i7. However, my last 2 builds (son's computer 1 year ago) and my new computer (this past month), are both running AMD again. (Ryzen 7 3800x and Ryzen 9 5900x). Aside from actually getting my hands on the CPU's, I've found the new AMD's to be brilliant.
