Unknown programs in apps and features

I have two programs in the apps and features list and I don't know what they are.

I think they were installed from my old pc when I transferred to my new one as they have an old date.

One is called CR and this one is 313mb in size.

The other one is called @bios and is 2.33 in size.

I don't want to delete if they are necessary but I don't know how to find out.

    Help anyone please?

The only @bios I can find is a utility supplied by Gigabyte for updating their bios. If your old PC had a Gigabyte motherboard then this probably explains how you got it. If the new PC doesn't have a Gigabyte motherboard you don't need it and can safely uninstall it.

@BIOS helps you search for, download, and then update the latest BIOS in Windows operating system.

Apps and Features should not only tell you the date of install, it should also tell you the publisher. That should give you a clue as to what it is. If there's no publisher shown, click the Programs and Features link under Related settings to open the Control Panel version. Some of mine only show their publisher there.

None of mine under Apps and Features show any publisher info. You'll need to use the Programs and Features instead.

Thanks to both contributors on this.

The @bios was relating to an old computer and so I have deleted it.

The other one just said CR on the Programs and features window but when given the option to uninstall or repair I clicked on repair and it told me what it was. It was an old piece of software that I no longer use. All uninstalled now. Thank you both.

it's always satisfying to identify and remove unnecessary dross that's just wasting disk space. You are to be commended for your cautious approach in doing so - it's all too easy to accidentally remove something you need with a 'slash and burn' approach.

Glad you found the piece hiding under the rug!
