    Magnifier Will Not Remain In The Background

    Windows 10 Version 1909

    Having low-vision over here, I have relied on windows screen magnifier and have depended on it since it was introduced in XP. The current magnifier poses usage problems for me that I've never had in previous versions. I have suffered this issue for a year and now am hoping that someone here may now know of a fix. Here's the issue:

    First of all, I must have magnifier docked at the bottom. I like to leave it on all the time but it always gets in my way because:

    While in the docked position, the lens remains on top of YouTube videos that are in full screen mode and it also stays on top of full screen videos in Windows MPC player and VLC;
    In other words, the magnifier covers over the screen on the bottom, obstructing the full-screen view.

    This was never a problem in Windows 7; I could always simply click on a web page or click on a video and the magnifier would instantly disappear into the background.

    Please say there is a tweak or patch or fix or something to make the magnifier behave as it should. Thank you.

    Hello mate,

    I suppose you could have Magnifier in full screen view to make it easier to adjust the zoom level as needed.

    Zooming in/out is easy to do and I just can't use Magnifier in full screen view

    I suppose you could toggle Magnifier off (Win+Esc) when watching something in full screen, and toggle Magnifier back on (Win+Plus) afterwards.

    Open and Close Magnifier in Windows 10

    That's okay; i was hoping for a tweak or maybe uninstall this one and install the old one. (i did that with windows photo viewer!) I even got back the old taskbar volume control, so I don't understand why it's not a simple thing for MS to have the new magnifier work the same as the old one. Maybe i need to speak with the coders that built the Classic Shell start menu. IDK. thanks anyway
