No i did not see the menu at all
If you just put the USB stick in a port and boot, it will probably be ignored and instead boot from the hard drive.
You need to use the boot menu and deliberately choose the USB stick from it. If it won't boot from that menu, you'd need to make another.
You have an Asus. You get to the boot menu by holding down a key during the boot process.
What key? Probably F8. Possibly "escape" at the upper left of the keyboard. Just hold the key down when you boot and see if a menu pops up. Look for the USB choice there.
How to Access Asus Boot Menu to Make Asus Boot from USB?
Thank you will try it
Thank you all for all your help with this, can see the boot menu and the usb is working
Hi there
Do also test the restore -- especially if this is the first time you've used the app -- Macrium IMO is extremely reliable but you should always test backups regularly --you don't want a critical restore failing because of "Disk I/O error" or "Corrupt image" - even if the backup stated "Backup completed successfully".
