Did make a bootable Macrium recovery media USB flash drive., but it does not boot up with it, going in to windows, will look for a other usb drive to test it again.
Did you use a boot menu to choose the USB stick?

    Or ?

If you just put the USB stick in a port and boot, it will probably be ignored and instead boot from the hard drive.

You need to use the boot menu and deliberately choose the USB stick from it. If it won't boot from that menu, you'd need to make another.

You have an Asus. You get to the boot menu by holding down a key during the boot process.

What key? Probably F8. Possibly "escape" at the upper left of the keyboard. Just hold the key down when you boot and see if a menu pops up. Look for the USB choice there.

How to Access Asus Boot Menu to Make Asus Boot from USB?

It will boot from the USB drive quite slowly....a minute or two.

You should arrive at the same Macrium interface you would see if you booted from your hard drive.

If you have an extra HDD/SDD sitting around, you can actually try restoring your image to it and make sure it boots - always a great feeling to see that and installs confidence in your ability to execute the process and that your image is good

    Hi there

Do also test the restore -- especially if this is the first time you've used the app -- Macrium IMO is extremely reliable but you should always test backups regularly --you don't want a critical restore failing because of "Disk I/O error" or "Corrupt image" - even if the backup stated "Backup completed successfully".

    Cheers
