Windows Photo Viewer missing on W10 20H2 buld 19042.685

When I first experienced missing Windows Photo Viewer in 2016 on W10 Pro I found a reg fix on the internet and solved the problem.
My recent update to W10 v.20H2 appears to have removed the Windows Photo Viewer. I ran the reg fix but it no longer worked.
    Is any remedy available?

Are you saying you are missing this app?

I presumed this was what the question was about, not the newer Photos app:

I've just clean installed 20H2 on a machine I'm building for my cousin. One of the first things I did was enable Windows Photo Viewer so that I could make it the default photo viewer. I used Option Two 'restore for all users' in Brink's tutorial.

Thanks everyone responding to my post.

First of all I want to note that a graphic for Settings on the above link appears not of W10 20H2.

I installed the reg fix but still no avail: Open With file list did not include Windows Photo Viewer(hereafter referred to as Photo Viewer). And Choose Another App sent me to MS store instead of allowing me to navigate to app file so that I can point an .exe file for Photo Viewer.
On the Settings, Photo Viewer was not listed in available apps for jpeg file type.
I could set default app for Photo Viewer on the properties of a jpeg file and changed the default to Photo Viewer. Now I can open jpeg file simply clicking on it. But Open With still does not show Photo Viewer in a list of apps.

    Note I also have 20H2 19042.685
I did find it eventually by doing this...

    • Right-click on file
    • Select Open with
    • Select Choose another app
    • Scroll down to More apps
    • Scroll down to Windows Photo Viewer

Windows Photo Viewer is abbreviated as WPV hereafter.

Let me correct what I stated in my previous post:
I stated that clicking on ‘Choose Another App’ jump to MS Store. Correction is, not directly to MS Store but via ‘File Identifier’ (an app). What happened is jumping (launching) to File Identifier and a link on it to MS store.

I uninstalled ‘File Identifier’ and I could see the graphic as posted above except “Always use this app to open .jpg files” which was missing.

Other observations are, in Settings, Apps & Features do not include WPV.

Default apps for Photos show none or + , which means no default is set. (at this point WPV was previously set as the default. See my previous post)

In the above step, I could set Photos as default for .jpeg. But unlike when WPV was the default, there is no ‘Preview” but ‘Open’ in stead in the dialogue shown when .jpeg file is right clicked.

Clicking + mark shows list of apps but WPV is not included.

    Summary as follows:
    1) “Always use this app to open .jpg files” is missing thus default cannot be changed.
    2) WPV is missing from Default apps for Photos (in Settings) thus WPV cannot be set as default for jpeg file.
    3) As my previous post indicates WPV can be set as default in the Properites of .jpeg file.
Dialogue displayed when .jpeg file is right clicked shows ‘Preview’ when WPV is the default, and ‘Open’ when the default is Photos
