    Hi folks

    @CerebralFreeze

Using Dolphin I like the "Show in Groups" feature.

AND !!!! unlike Windows explorer -- SORT works properly !!!!!

Problem with Treesize free like all applications using the built in standard Windows / File explorer API is that even though Windows can now support long path / file names (>266 chars) the applications out there are still using the standard API which can't show longer than 266 chars.

If you have some say music files on NAS server e,g 3 TB of music its possible to get some quite long names - especially if you have decent naming for your tracks / songs etc.

    Cheers

Agree that some apps are not resolving path length/ filename length correctly, Treesize does handle it fine though.

    Hi there
Thanks for that info -- must be new !!!
Filezilla although an FTP client also handles lengths correctly.

Can't understand why Ms hasn't changed the API so things like file / windows explorer also work correctly --especially in "preview" / developer type releases.

Thanks again for info and "Stay safe" this Xmas -- a lot of places have relaxed restrictions for XMAS shopping -- seems to be causing COVID cases rising again. I'd just delay Xmas until around Easter this year now some Vaccines are being rolled out -- but I'm an Engineer not a politician !!!!!

    Cheers

Hi! I just started using TreeSize. Is there a way to not show hidden folders except for excluding them individually?

Just to revisit this thread, TreeSize has an option to enable both a graph display of disk usage plus an option to enable drag & drop.

Another interesting development is from Microsoft, as detailed in this Bleeping computer post, which looks promising.

Thanks for the info. The problem is that I want to get rid of the main pane for TreeSize. You can't do that with their paid program. (I checked yesterday.) It looks like nothing can do what I am looking for. ☹

Show me the Main Pane you're trying to get rid of. Here's mine.

    Hey tomcat!

I was trying to use the TreeSize Personal version. It's one of the paid versions. Funny thing is that the free version actually has a few additional options that the paid doesn't have. One is to get rid of a main pane in which it has charts, details, etc.

However, I can't use TreeSize Free because it doesn't save the tree folder that I set up. I want to have a folder tree that always opens up with the same branches every time I boot up my computer.

It looks like there is nothing available that I want to do.

If you're trying to save a "template" to show an exact open tree on open, Tree Size doesn't have that. Not sure what does, if any. Sorry.

Thanks. I'm going to try XYPlorer. Someone suggested it. If that doesn't work, then I don't know of anything else.
