    @Brink,
    In that same link,
"Method 2: Download the Microsoft Store installer (Appx package)
You can download the Microsoft Store app and its dependencies in the form of .Appx and .AppxBundle package or installers from Microsoft’s servers. Follow these steps to do so:"

Seems like that would install the Store app if it was completely removed. What do you think?

    That should work.

How is the M$ Store bloatware? You may need it to install an app someday. Is it causing issues on your PC?

I don't wish to start an argument about it nor to debate the issue nor risk raising the ire of those who don't share my particular opinion. But you asked: from my perspective I see no reason for it to be on my machine, I am inherently suspicious of anything M$ says I have to have or do since the primary purpose of W10 was to make it into a marketing machine and data-spy. I simply don't foresee a use for it. It's primary mission is to sell me things -- the vast majority I have no interest in for what I use this machine for. Most programs I will encounter and desire to install can be installed without its assistance or participation. To me, it's just out there doing nothing and potentially being an unnecessary resource hog to no purpose so it might as well be gone. From what I read here, if I do eventually run across a valid reason/need, it is possible to put it back.

That said, if you have any information as to why my attempt to remove it failed based on the information I initial provided, I'd be grateful.

Hello, and welcome to Ten Forums.

You might see if the command below may work without -allusers at the end may work. Some people are having mixed results with it added.

    Get-appxpackage -allusers *Microsoft.WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

error 0x80070002 looks like it means some files are missing.

If the option without "-AllUsers" does not work you can try to reinstall MS store:
Reinstall and Re-register Apps in Windows 10

    And then try removal again.

Revo Uninstaller will remove any or all of the Windows apps, including Windows Store.

Warning: Removing Apps this way is pretty much final. And if one of the removed apps is Windows Store, then it's even "more" final.

I too, don't like apps that I didn't choose to install... on my computer.
As you can see, I removed all the apps except the ones still on the list.

After removing an app, Revo will offer to search the Registry for leftovers. I always allow that, and then delete the leftovers. HOWEVER, I also keep full OS image backups in case anything goes wrong.

I use Macrium Reflect for that.

There is a group policy to enable or deny access to the Store. This may or may not correspond to the registry key you posted earlier. I've not tried it.

Policy Plus is free and behaves like the group policy editor - with a useful find feature. You could try it...

Bloatware is always good for discussions but my process is to just remove the icons and tiles not desired as each successive twice-yearly Version Upgrade or Reset may just put it all back.
