    CCleaner

I have been using CCleaner Pro for a almost a year. Lately I have been inundated with almost daily emails asking me to renew even though it WAS on autorenew. Firstly they said when its time to renew do it for £14. So, I waited as its not due till December. Thne I got another mail telling me to renew for £19. So I contacted them and they said thats the RENEWAL price £19. So Today I got yet another mail telling me I can renew for £29. I have switched off auto renew, now for the business end:

Can you knowledgeable gents out there recommend a PC cleaner (win 10 Home x 64 - latest) that will clean all the rubbish out, incl Registry, and drives etc, similar or better to CCleaner? Just thought, I have Kaspersky Total Security 2020, I'll have ti =o check if that does it.

    @elbmek

You can just use CCleaner (free) version. There's nothing in the Pro version that's really needed.

I agree with @Ghot. I have used the FREE version for years without any problems.

Thanks. I checked KTS - they do have cleaning options in Tools but nowhere near as comprehensive as CC. So. I will deleted CCleaner and install a new free version, so there is nothing left for them to keep emailing me on!!

Good idea to take a screenshot of the cookies you decided to keep, before you uninstall the Pro version.
It saves a lot of time.

    On the new install...

    On the Options tab...
    Uncheck everything under Updates.
    Uncheck everything under Privacy

Choose to start in Custom Clean on the Settings tab

IMO, never run the Health Check.

This will use the actual software's uninstall process first, and then get rid of leftovers.

    Revo Uninstaller

I find that when uninstalling software, Revo Uninstaller [ FREE ] is excellent. It has an option to scan for leftover items after the initial uninstall [ using the softwares own uninstall process if one exists ] using an Advanced Scan option. You can then tick everything and delete it.

    I hope this helps!

As for uninstallers Paul, I use Geek, after un-installation, it runs another check to make sure nothing is left behind, there always is, and it deletes it.

So does Revo...and it lets you decide whether to run the scan for leftovers, or not.

Geek is good as well. Lot of folks on here use that, a lot use Revo.
