Can I play (and rip) a hidden track? How?

I think to best understand this question, I'll refer to text from Discogs.com:

Track 0 is a bonus track that is unlisted in the layout. To get to the unlisted track before the first track, you must scan backwards around 2 minutes, and then let the disc play. It will have a negative time elapsed display and will fade out before the time counts down to zero, and then the first track will start normally.

I have a CD/album, it's Transistor by 311. The CD contains a hidden track, and I cannot figure out how to play it. Is it even possible to play on a PC or do I need a CD player? I haven't owned one in several years, so that may be a problem.

Edit: I looked around a bit more. Still haven't solved the problem. This apparently is known as "pre-gap". I guess it can be played starting at Track 1 and playing backwards. I have clue how to do this.

Random thought- assuming you have a CD/DVD drive... try a CD ripper program and see if that lists the track.

Do you sure, your version has that hidden track?

    for example

Rammstein Reise Reise album has a 0th flight recorder hidden track, but japan version of this album has not that hidden track.

If you have hidden track as 0th, choose repeat all, then play all of the album, at the end of the last track it could be start with 0th track that i remember. Last time i used a cd for listening music was 2005.

Try "Exact Audio Copy" to extract "track 0". According to wikipedia articles, this particular track on "Transistor" is of the "pregap" type (quote:Not all CD drives can properly extract such hidden tracks. Some drives will report errors when reading these tracks, and some will seem to extract them properly, but the extracted file will contain only silence.).

Positive. I've been tagging my CDs lately using Foobar2000 with a Discogs tagging component. When I tag, I look at the codes printed on the underside of the CD and Google those, rather than just depend on the barcode. Windows Media Player doesn't seem to recognize Track 0 on this CD. I was fiddling with EAC last night with no luck. First of all, it kept ejecting my CD, to which I ended up fixing by turning off Autoplay within Windows 10, finally got it to somewhat cooperate and it told me that there were 21 tracks on the CD (1-21), no Track 0.

    EDIT: Solution found!

Thanks! I found a comment on this page that gave me what I wanted. I'll quote it so others can know.

Solution posted by user greynol from
    hydrogenaud.io forums:
    1. Action menu, Detect Gaps (or press F4).
    2. Select the first track (you know, the red one).
    3. Action menu, Copy Selected Tracks Index-Based.

Note that the Copy Selected Tracks Index-Based option was a sub-menu, I selected the Uncompressed... option.

EDIT #2: After correctly extracting the track with EAC, I used Audacity to get rid of the silence on both ends of the track, and modify the track length based on the expected time length from the Discogs listing. I then attempted to tag, but still got errors. Discogs labeled Track #0 as Track #1, so I had to edit the track number of the entire album (all 22 tracks, ugh!), and then it finally tagged correctly.
