A follow-up. Did you come to any conclusion on where/what is the problem?

This has been working perfectly until today when the print jobs just get stuck in the print queue. Further investigation suggests that the USB connection may not be working, in Device Manager the USB controllers list contains an entry “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)” with an error exclamation on it.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software - no luck.

The form feed button on the front of the printer is not working although the blue LED illuminates normally.

Any ideas on how to fix this appreciated.
Hi you need to put it in another powersocket. If you have too much devices in one socket it doesnt get enough power and windows wont recognise it.

I have had several Dymo PnP Label Printers. They work fine, until they don't. The issue is a poorly designed charging circuit, such that if you leave the printer plugged in full-time to USB (and who doesn't?) you will degrade some component to the point of failure.

I always look for some sale price for this printer. I would also mention that the batteries have a short life, but Dymo never seems to have the battery in stock, or else it costs more than a sale priced printer. No kidding.

My Labelwriter 450 is AC powered, not USB or battery. After 5 years, continuously plugged into USB port and a couple rolls of label paper, still working perfectly.

In contrast, my PnP printer is battery powered, with the battery being charged by USB. USB alone cannot supply enough power to run the printer, so if the battery is run down or gone bad, printer won't work. I would much rather have had an AC powered printer, but for this purpose I couldn't spend too much money.
