how to keep windows picture viewer

With the latest updates, once again, Windows changes from picture viewer to photos. I'm on Win10pro v 200 Any permement way to keep windows from doing this or do I have to keep changing it back? thanks. Mark

    @mg8t7gn

A lot of us have gotten tired of Windows picture/photo viewer, and just started using XnView (free).

I personally use XnView Minimal (XnView Min. Setup) found here:
XnView . The Best Windows Photo Viewer, Image Resizer and Batch Converter

You'll never go back to Windows picture/photo viewer again.

Thanks. I'll look into it. Does it have the slide show feature like picture viewer?

    Oh yeah.

All the settings for the program are under: Tools > Options

Under View > Thumbnail Size, I like 92x69 the best, but you can change it to almost any size.

Here's the link to the various help topics (English).
XnView (Windows) User Guide - XnView Wiki

Make sure you click the button that I circled in RED.

And here's the settings I use for the slide show...

When you click the Slide Show button up on the toolbar, the window on the left will open.
It will show the last picture in the folder, that you opened.
Just click "Add Folder" and choose w/e folder you want to show the Slide Show.

The "More Options" button on the left open the windows on the right.

This program will let you do a lot of image editing as well. It will also do batch processing, batch rename... etc.

    Happy Halloween, enjoy.
