is .net 4.8 installed for me

i just installed windows 10 build 2004 on my laptop

first i installed .net 3.5 by using the offline method. it worked and my .net detector says that i have it installed

after that i downloaded the setup file for .net 4.8 from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-ae/...er-for-windows and i ran it. i got the error message ".net framework 4.8 or later update is already installed on this computer" but my .net detector didn't detect that i have .net 4.8

i went to programs and features then windows features. there already was a square next to .net frameworks 4.8 advanced series but when i expanded it i saw that asp .net 4.8 was unticked. i ticked it then clicked ok. i saw message saying getting needed files and doing needed changes then it said done and it didnt connect to windows updates to download files

i then went to admin cmd and i typed reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Net Framework Setup\NDP\v4" /s. this is what i have now:-
is .net 4.8 installed for me-pic.jpg

is it done correctly? however my .net detector is still not seeing .net 4.8:-

    what do i do?

    @cns00

Check this registry key as described in the article linked...

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dot...-are-installed

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Full
If the Full subkey is missing, then .NET Framework 4.5 or above isn't installed.

The Release REG_DWORD value in the registry [Full subkey] represents the version of .NET Framework installed.

    .NET Framework 4.8
On Windows 10 May 2019 Update and Windows 10 November 2019 Update: 528040
    On Windows 10 May 2020 Update: 528372
On all other Windows operating systems (including other Windows 10 operating systems): 528049

    /edit

As for your Net Detector program... I have no idea. Maybe it needs updated, new version?

i don't know why the .net detector is not detecting 4.8

did i do it correctly by ticking asp .net 4.8 in windows features?

Yeah, on the right side where it says Release the number at the end is 528372. That means you have 4.8 up and running, and that it's the May 2020 Feature Update version.

Just run Windows Updates and see if there are any more updates for .NET Framework.
For example... there was one released yesterday.

    Check for update.

ASoft .NET Version Detector product details

Delete the old program (it's portable) then re-download and then run it.

    EDIT:

What's new in ASoft .NET Version Detector 20 R1

    June 29, 2020
    • ASoft .NET Version Detector now supports .NET 4.8!
    • .NET 4.8 is part of Windows 10 May Update 2020 and as separate download.
    • .NET Core is now also supported!

So if your version of the program pre-dates June 2020 then it won't detect 4.8
