It's going to capture at the same resolution your screen is set to.
Thanks for the reply, I asked because my scrn res is 3480x2160 as recommended and when I recently uploaded some screen shots (captured with snip and sketch) the online photo co marked them as low res photos.
Hi,
Don't save as .jpg files very poor low quality usually unless you use a better photo editing program with more settings
Use .png or .gif or .bmp see which one is compatible with your share site .png is the most common and good quality.
No, it captures screen pixels.
When you select an area that will have some pixel dimensions, lets say 1,000 x 1,000 pixels that is it.
The way to increase resolution is to display the image as large as possible on your monitor before using Snip & Sketch.
Obviously the larger the selection area is, greater the number of pixels.
Online photo companies note the DPI given in the Image file and they probably require a certain minimum of say 600 DPI. Anything lower they might class as 'low resolution'.
A screen capture on my Laptop would give 96 DPI, probably on yours maybe 200 dpi or something like that.
You can simply change the DPI number in the file to what minimum they require, easily done in an image editor like IrfanView. you will see the nominal 'Print size' change when you do that.
However the image pixel dimensions stay the same. Pixels x DPI = Print size.
Re-save the file, not to JPG as that would result in JPG compressions once or twice depending on how you saved the original Snip (JPG or PNG).
