Patriot Viper M.2 SSD RGB software?

Does anyone have an explanation on why I have Patriot Viper M.2 SSD RGB shown in Programs and Features when I've never in my life used any Patriot products? This is on a custom built PC by me and only used by me.

Anyway, the only memory I use is Corsair, in this case my modules include RGB lights. The only SSD's I use are Samsung SSD's - 5 in my case (2 NVME, 3 SATA). See system one system specs.

Just now noticing this so I've no idea how long it's been there; but this system was built from scratch so no "previous" Patriot anything.

    Any thoughts/ideas?

    Thanks.

It would seem that software comes bundled in with some of the motherboard and AIO RGB software.

Asus, Gigabyte, Corsair just to name a few. Most reported that things still worked post install of it.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate that :)

Both my Gigabyte boards shown in my system specs use Gigabyte's RGB tech/software and I've never seen Patriot anything until now.

Anyway, the software indicates its for a Patriot SSD, which again, I've never used or would ever use. And all my SSD's are genuine Samsung SSDs. So it's definitely odd that Patriot listing is showing in Programs and Features.

I just noticed the same in my program list, along with Viper DRAM RGB. I suspect it might be the Corsair DDR4 RAM I have installed and perhaps any software I downloaded from Corsair or ASUS for the LED to function with my MB, but I don't recall if I had to do that. Although it has the same install date and time as my ASUS MB drivers. My NVME drive is a Sabrent Rocket and my SSD drives are be Micron and Samsung. Not going to worry to much about it as I don't think it's causing any issues and my DRAM LED's are working.

For me, it seems to only show up when I install Gigabyte's Fusion RGB software for my motherboard. Right not it's not showing, but I don't have the RGB software installed since I just did a clean install of Windows 11. I suspect once I install the RGB Fusion software, "Patriot Viper" will once again reappear in Programs and Features.

    Anyway, that's me.
