    Thick borders for CMD

When you launch CMD (CMD.exe) you get a window with black background, with a white header, and white scroll-bar on the right side, ...

but on the bottom and on the left side, there is no border.
Or, there is, but it is one pixel wide, and in dark grey.
This is super annoying if you place different CMD boxes over each other, because the all blend toghether, given the fact that the border is hardly visible.

How do you permanently make this border 5 or 10 pixels wide, and in other color (white for example) ?

Hi, have you tried using the Aerolite theme? (Tutorial available).
Install Aerolite Theme in Windows 10

How to Use Aerolite Theme for Window Borders and Title Bars Color in Windows 10

When you change the color in Windows 10, it will change the color of your Start menu accents, Start button, taskbar, title bars, window borders, buttons, text, Settings accents, sign-in screen accents, and Action Center accents.

By default, title bars are white unless you turn on show color on Start, taskbar, and action center.

Window borders are only 1 pixel wide, so they don't show the selected color very well. This tutorial will give you wider window borders.
I use Aeroglass (3rd party utility).

I'll have a try with that one, but I'd hate to install a full theme just to get the borders fixed, but I guess this may still be the best option.

    Thank you for your reply.

It's actually already there in Windows - nothing to download.
And note this free tool- which makes reference to it (full explanation- just easy interface rather than registry changes):

I was stuck at step 1 of option 1 because it was not clear which of the two to download ... so, none of them.

There's no folder like this on my Windows 10:
    %LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Themes
    The "Themes" directory is missing

edit: no winaero on my machine

    - - - Updated - - -

    I chose Aero_Lite_Theme.zip to download

clicked on the aerolite.theme inside the zip file
This one created the "Themes" folder & opened the setting screen

In the "Colors" section I just picked a color
and my CMD boxes have a thick border (in the chosen color)

But a lot of other things change into that color as well - well, it could be worse

Again, thank you very much for replying.

You may have missed something or misinterpreted something.

    I cited this tutorial:

And if you want an easy way:

Do you see it says 'hidden theme'? It's already in Windows.

As for Aeroglass... did you note what I said?
I simply gave that as an example.

I use Aeroglass (3rd party utility).
    - yes, 3rd party program.
I.e. Google Aeroglass, download and install. Small payment.

I'm sorry this has turned out so unsatisfactorily for you.

Would not making each window a different color help?

    FYI:

    Tabbed cmd.exe

    Portable version works fine.

ColorConsole 4.66 ColorConsole brings a little color to you.
