Move installed programs to a new clean installed drive.

    Win 10 pro 2004

Till now, I never heard that it is possible to transfer installed programs from one drive / installation to another drive that had a clean install.
    dalchina say it is possible.

    - yes you can...
I would like to learn something new. Can someone explain me how to do it?

I have used a program called PCMover when my wife went from an old desktop to a new laptop. The old desktop was running Pro, and the system was Home, but PCMover still did the job. For MS Office, I had to re-validate, but the programs did move over. Pretty much everything else was like plug-and-play. I seem to recall that the price was about $60, but it saved me at least a full day of doing installs and configs.

In the relevant thread I referred to
    Laplink PCMover
    Easeus Todo PC Trans

These- especially the first - have been around for some years. There is another one, more expensive.

Have a look at their sites.

Do you have a personal preference for one of those over the other?...

    Thanks!

I used them some years ago, so comments on that wouldn't be relevant now I'm afraid.

My preferred method, as I said in the thread from which Megahertz took this was to use a disk image of the old PC's 'C:' as source.
