How do I disable Cortana. I have unchecked everything in settings but the darn thing carries on to interrupt!
Win 10 Home version 1903. Simple and detailed instructions please.
If I simply disable 'Hey cortana' in Settings, I only ever see it and any resource usage related to it if I press Win key + C e.g. to set a reminder. You can see my build.
Under what circumstances and in what way does it appear? Screenshot?

And just click the check box. Or you can upgrade to Win 10 v2004, and just uninstall Cortana.
BUT, WinAero Tweaker has about 200 other things you can change with just a check mark. :)
Is this your problem- high CPU usage- or something else?

Do that but now I have no search icon. - i.e. simple magnifying glass.
Undo whatever you just did that removed the search icon, and you can use what I posted above to uninstall or disable Cortana without affecting anything else.
If I right click the box "Type here to search" two options appear at Cortana - 1. Show Cortana Icon 2. Show Search Box - whichever I tick I still have Cortana. Either a small circle or the search box,
I just want the old magnifying glass.
