MPC-HC is always the best. The developer put up that "warning"(notification) likely because of humility.
MPC-HC is zippy fast, even on "potato" PCs.

The topic, according to the Title, is an issue downloading VLC media player. Advising the OP to switch to an different player does not solved the issue. No matter how much you like it, or anyone else likes it, it does not have anything to do with the stated issue. It is switching the subject, which is going off topic.

What's the difference between MPC and K-Lite. I think my MPC came from K-Lite.

Anyway ... MPC beats VLC by a mile. I used to use VLC (about ten or fifteen years ago) because it played every video format. But the UI was terrible. So I looked for something better.

Along came MPC. It, too, played everything, and the interface was much better. Very simple. Unfortunately it sometimes would hang. I don't know why.

Eventually MPC got better. Plays everything, doesn't hang, easy and clean UI. No more VLC for me. No way.

Unreal. Either some people cannot read, or it's done intentionally.

If alternatives to VLC are so great, open your own thread for product praise.

Honestly though I understand what you are pointing to and I will stop. The reason I kept doing it this time is because I am passionate about it, I always remember how amazed I was when moving from VLC to MPC-HC. I just could not understand why people praised VLC so much! It's so slow and heavy!
