How to stop Boom3D's popup ad?

I use Boom3D to enhance the sound on my win10 system. It's a pretty good program.

Today I was looking at some data from WaPo on COVID, and suddenly a Boom3D ad popped up.

Besides unwanted and annoying, it's also quite sleazy.

But the popup did not appear in my browser (Chrome)'s history.

Where can I look to block it? I block popups on Chrome.

This is quite unnerving.

Did all that. I don't ever get popups. This was the first in years.

How do I find the source of this popup? This is awful. This is from the Winzip Update Notifier.

I found Control Panel->Task Scheduler->Active Tasks found it there and disabled it (hopefully).
