    Help with Open Shell customizations

    I've managed to set almost everything like I want except two things: I'd like the menu to be higher (it's currently lower than how it is in W7), and I'd like to change the behaviour of the "Control Panel" button in the menu: it always opens Control Panel with the "View by" set to "Large icons", while I'd prefer to have "Category" as my default view.

    Why I don't have that "Special Items" tab?

    Thank you so much for replying.

    Do you have the same version?

    Try reinstalling it.

    Do you have Show All Settings ticked as per my screenshot? Noted you've not posted a screenshot yourself...

    Can you tell me what value you have in "Customize Start Menu"->"Control Panel"->"Command"? I have "control_panel", and read on Open Shell forum you should be able to change it to "cuntrol_panel_categories", but it doesn't work for me.

    I have Classic with two columns. Selecting Win 7 style means 'Special Items' isn't shown.

    "Customize Start Menu"->"Control Panel"->"Command"
    Unsure what you mean..

    Strangely enough, my Open Shell looks different. Anyway, try to double click on the "Control Panel" item and you should get a window like this:

    EDIT: I found out why "Special Items" tab didn't appear and why my "Customize Start Menu" looked different: it's tied to which "Start Menu Style" you choose.

    I have the middle one checked. You don't.

    Do that and you should see Special Items.

    I told you that in my last post.
