I have turned off files on demand a dozen times and it refuses to download files.

Hi!

I'm a tad confused. You want them on demand or you do not?

If you're looking to disable Files On-Demand, then clear the option described in step No. 3, but note that turning off this feature will download all your files configured to sync with OneDrive.

Step 3. Under "Files On-Demand," check the Save space and download files as you use them
to enable the feature.

Ztrucker, that is what I did about 2 dozen times. I click it off, click OK but nothing happens. Not a thing downloads. I don not like files on demand. Sometimes I copy OneDrive to a usb, I tried doing this, but first it has to download, which was incredibly slow. My OneDrive is over 13 GB.

Hewjr100, my post in response to Masterchiefxx17's post. Sorry for the confusion.

The first thing to try is run the DISM and SFC commands, see if there is some system file corruption.

Open a Elevated Command Prompt:

1. Click Start
2. Type cmd
3. Right click on Command Prompt at top of window and select Run as Administrator

Run these commands in sequence from a Elevated Command Prompt window, up to 3 times until you get a complete clean run, no errors:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
SFC /scannow

Don't clear the Command Prompt window by entering cls at any time. When you are done, right click on the Command Prompt Title bar, click on Edit then Select All. Click on Edit then Copy.

Open a post in this thread, click on the code icon (#) then paste the data you copied between the

tags.

Not sure what version you're running but it might be worth looking at this issue just in:

It may be due the the issue Farvatten just posted. If so, nothing you can do about it except roll back to before 2004 and wait until it's fixed.

Sent Feedback with video showing that I cannot turn off Files on Demand. There are no error messages, it just does not turn it off and download files to local drive.

I found Can't turn off Files on demand from Henry E. Is that the one you just submitted?

This one is the same: Windows Insider and another Windows Insider

Just go into Feedback and search on can't disable files on demand
