Why can't sandboxie open these files

Not sure what folder to put this in - sorry.
windows 10 pro 64-bit
V. 1909 Build 18363.900


Why when scanning for bad programs can't sandboxie access these files??
I have dozens more which sandboxie can't access.
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb - unable to open [4]
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.jfm - unable to open [4]
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\Logs\edb.log - unable to open [4]
C:\hiberfil.sys - unable to open [4]
C:\pagefile.sys - unable to open [4]
C:\swapfile.sys - unable to open [4]

Hi jps99. I navigated to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\DataStore\DataStore.edb using a sandboxed version of File explorer, and as you say, the file doesn't open. When I clicked on the file, nothing happens.

If I navigate to the same file using an unsandboxed File explorer, since I haven't set any program to be the default program to open edb files, Windows ask me (see picture below) as to how I want to open the file.



My guess as to what you might want to try is to set up a default program to open this type of files. I dont want to set up a program to open this type of files as I have no reason to open them so I cant test what I am going to recommend, but I think if you set up a program to open edb files (or the other types in your list) , you might succeed opening this files using a sandboxed File Explorer or by right clicking them and choosing Run sandboxed.

Sandboxie is mostly, an application sandbox, so perhaps when you try to run edb files sandboxed since SBIE doesn't detect a program as trying to start and run, just a prompt about using an Store application (which is not compatible with SBIE) or to choose something else, then Sandboxie doesn't do anything.
