    Duplicate Google Photos

I downloaded Google Photos to my desktop and ran DupeGuru. This found hundreds of duplicates but I don't know if its safe to delete them as I have most of my Google Photos added to albums. The albums don't show up on Google Drive/Photos.
If I delete the duplicates, will it delete the photos from my albums too?
When I look at Photos on my phone, it says that deleting a photo will delete it from its album too.

I've noticed in past versions of different types of imaging software that deleting from Albums does also delete the source file/s used to create the album.

I guess I’d better leave them alone then!
    Thanks.

I'd be doing a complete backup to an external source before I do anything.

Then knock yourself out deleting duplicates.

What were your settings in the duplicate finder program - by name; by name and size; by name size and extension; etc. Without the proper settings you could be deleting the files themselves and leaving shortcut links ... which obviously will no longer work if the originals have gone (seen that with other online software).

Better still, you take control of your own photos ... forget Google software. Last lot of images I let Google near finished up in the public domain for peoples search engines !!!
