Check appdata folders - local and roaming. Maybe a folder in those.
No, nothing in there and I do not think the MS C++ will hurt anything. What a mess to configure! I give up!

That program that Samuria linked works but for me the only app that I can find to open a scrolled capture and view it when scrolling is my browser. Then regardless of what I highlight it captures the visible part of the page.

So you could use that and use OCR to capture visible text then paste it indo a document.

    Look here:
    C:/Users/Chrls/AppData/Roaming/Gres/

If you downloaded plugins there should be a folder named Gres.

I actually tried the one he suggested before I ever posted here. It did not edit very well at all.

capture2text (free) works well- I use it with tenforums posts where users submit screenshots.. draw a rectangle or capture text in a 'bubble' to OCR it.
    Capture2Text

E.g. from the above poor quality text on the non-expanded screenshot:
    Attachment 283104
    ^ input
    v output

Many languages, copes with text at an angle.. even does text -> speech. User configurable hotkeys.

Also can be run from the command line and can process a batch of image files (apparently- not tried it!)

Context menu: Right click, 'OCR' to clipboard.
I have just added it to my context menu so I can simply rt click an image file containing text, click the Capture2text icon, and the text then appears in my clipboard.
(I could specify a file as output).
Will it scroll if the capture is a large web page?

As I mentioned previously, I've never found a 100% accurate OCR program. You would always get better results when scanning typed documents but with images it is very hit or miss depending upon the text, layout and background.

Snagit works fairly well, OCR capabilities powered by ABBYY, not 100% accurate though!
    Only free for trial.

I will look as I DO have Snagit 12. I can see what there is that may work. I know at one time there was a plugin that let you scroll.

I did try this but it did not scroll the web page and I know it used to work.

    I don't get it!
Do you want to capture OCR from an image or do you want to copy text from a web page?

    Anyway...,

Scrolling capture works for me, then grabbing text from the image is hit and miss...

If you are talking about webpages try this:

    Head to DuckDuckGo Privacy, simplified.

Click settings icon and adjust like this:

    So infinite scrolling is on.

EDIT: The above is only required to capture search results.

Go to a site where you would need to scroll several pages. Example:

[GUIDE] Using ImDisk to set up RAM disk(s) in Windows with no limit on disk size | guru3D Forums

Click in the window, Press [Ctrl+A] to select everything.

    Press [Ctrl+C] to copy

    Open your text editor.

    Press [Ctrl+V]

    Result:
    test.TXT
