In both cases I get the app starting briefly and then crash/close again.

I've tried with normal and elevated Command Prompt

Tried running the task in Task Scheduler manually using the Run button (I hope that's what you meant?)
Same thing... Starts briefly, then crashes.

So, in summary, I can only start the app by manually clicking on the shortcut on the desktop (or the pinned icon on the taskbar) or with Start-Run.

Copy the shortcut into the following folder:

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\StartUp

Run the following via an elevated Command Prompt:

sfc /scannow
