    Restore Sticky Notes Shortcut

    Hi Shawn:
I noticed that I have 2 shortcuts for Sticky Notes in my Start Menu. See image. The top one will open my last note & I can access my other notes, settings, etc. from there. However, the bottom one, which has a flyout, doesn't work. If I click any of the options, I get a message that "Windows is searching...". Eventually, I get the message in the second image I posted.

Do you know how I can fix that problem?

As always, thanks for all your time, patience, & expertise!

    Hello phrab,

This appears to be an invalid shortcut in the Classic Shell start menu, but I don't know the settings to remove it in Classic Shell.

Right click. You can either unpin it from Start Menu or Delete it. I would delete it, since the first entry works.

Thank you both for your replies. The first shortcut works, but only to open the last sticky note. It doesn't have all those other options. Do you know if there's a way to restore that?

A suggestion..... Open File location on the first one so you know where it is. Unpin it, not delete, unpin. Find the Sticky Notes app and create a shortcut to it on the desktop (right click and Send to Desktop). Move that shortcut to your personal folder (USER folder). Right click the shortcut and pin to Start Menu. See if all that gets the right stuff back.

Thank you again. When I right click on either of the shortcuts, there's no "Open file location", only Open, Pin to taskbar. I can't find the app itself anywhere (assuming it's an executable). I'm tempted, to backup the registry, uninstall it, & go to the Microsoft Store to reinstall it.

Do you see any problem with that?

I'm trying, with any store app, to find a way to pin it to Start Menu Classic Shell. I'm coming up empty. I can find the .exe easy, they are in "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.ZuneVideo_10.20022.11011.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe" for example. If I pin it to Start Menu, I get a permission error when I click it. Gonna have to look at it again tomorrow.

Have you tried dragging the store app to desktop then dragging it to the top of the
    classic start menu?

That works, and no permission errors. Thanks.

@phrab, Thomas's drag 'n drop will get you the Menu "pin" item after you uninstall and re-install Sticky Notes.
