Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch Resolutions

    Hi Guys,

    My device information:
Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch Resolutions-winver.jpg

Do you Guys know how to go about increasing the resolution of images taken using the Snipping Tool and / or the Snip & Sketch tool? The default resolution setting for both app is way too low (at 96DPI only) The image below shows the Properties window for an image taken with the Snipping Tool as well as the Snip & Sketch tool. As you can see, it's too low, I would like to increase it.

Any help / guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Andrew

As it captures images pixel by pixel, I don't see what relevance the dpi setting has? AIUI, dpi is (or may be) used only when printing an image. You are getting all that is there.

My apologies, mngerhold and Try3 I did not think it through, did I?

As for your question Try3, I was not too sure so I got some screenshots here, hopefully they answer your question.

However, I am still of the opinion that 96DPI for an image is way too small.

Does that mean that there's nothing we can do to increase the resolution?

Like mngerhold pointed it out above, you are getting it all. Look at pixels (a x b) together with resolution (dpi) you get inches of your picture.

You can increase the resolution by making picture smaller with the same pixels

You have quite small screen resolution (older laptop I guess).

Edit, here is the same picture, with same pixels, one is 96 dpi, and other is 300. Only print size changes..
