    How to get rid of ms-resource:AppListName in Start Menu


    I did an update to Windows 10 and the following ended up at the bottom of my start menu : ms-resource:AppListName

    I am using :
    Windows 10 Home
    version 1909
    OS Build 18363.836

    When I would click on ms-resource:AppListName with my mouse, nothing would happen and there appeared to be no way to uninstall or remove it.

    I had basically given up, but as a last resort I decided to do a full scan with my anti-virus program. After which, I rebooted my computer and when I checked the start menu, ms-resource:AppListName was gone.

    My anti-virus software is the free version from Kaspersky.

    Welcome to Windows Ten Forums!

    Go here:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    or

    C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    If you see the entry for that item in that Programs Folder, delete it and refresh your Start Menu.

    Post back with your result.

    I had already checked both of those locations with no luck.

    After searching the internet, I discovered that lots of people had the same problem and could not find a solution.
    I posted this not to find a solution, since my anti-virus program solved the problem for me, but in hopes it might help someone else with the same problem.

    I don't know if other anti-virus software would fix it or not, but the free version of Kaspersky anti-virus did it for me.
