    WSL - Ubuntu - How do you use it?


    Hello,

    I've installed WSL Ubuntu on Windows 10. How on earth do you use it?

    I've got a Laravel project that I was running using Laragon and running NPM on Windows is not the best, npm run watch takes forever - I have Elementary OS installed as a partition and use Laravel Valet for my dev environment.

    How can I use the Laravel Project on Windows and use NPM via Linux(Ubuntu)?

    I'm a newbie-ish when it comes to Linux OS.

    Hi, you can follow this tutorial to set it up.

    It should prompt you to create a user name and password.
    When that's done it will tell you that you can update the OS files by running 'sudo apt update'.
    I would suggest watching a few youtube videos to get you started on Linux.

    Some suggested ones:

    YouTube

    otherwise generally search for 'Linux for Beginners' videos.

Got a "new" computer for my Ubuntu files. Set it up for dual boot, W10 / Ubuntu. Ran samba, selected a folder to be accessed from Windows, made it Shareable, and I get access denied when I try to map to it from Map network drive. Any ideas?
