    Microsoft Visual Studio version question

I was just testing a trial version of software on a test machine.
When I installed it I saw that it needed to install Microsoft Visual Studio 2012.
It is the 2020 version of the software.

I am getting ready to install the software on my machine and I'm wondering if it makes more sense to install the most current version of Visual Studio beforehand, or will the program just install v2012 anyway?

    VS 2012, v11, support ends 2023
    VS 2019, v16, support ends 2029 (Current)

Hi, just let it do what it's going to do. It may well be that the prog. checks for the presence of the appropriate version when it runs.
