    there was also the old Winfile app from the Win3.x days - posted on Github; also available in the MS store

    works on Win10 but requires Visual C++ 2017 redist or higher runtime installed or it will not run

    Apparently I already had the support file installed as I wasn't prompted for it. Been using File Manager for a few weeks, brings back fond memories of when I started using and building Windows computers.
    The mentioned download, version number is different at VS 2015 C++ runtime [from text file in the download]:
