Installing and Configuring MadVR and LavFilters on media players

Are there any good tutorials or instructions for configuring lavfilters and madVR plugins on VLC, MPC and other media players? Which media players have FFMPEG included? Are there any new versions of MadVR plugins? This plugin has not been updated in quite some time.

    Thanks!

Thank you! Is there a reason you use PotPlayer? The installation files are bundled with Adware.

Highly configurabe. Great playback quality. I've been using it for a few years. Never seen adware.

    Maybe because:

Or if any extras are offered when running the installer just decline them.

FYI: If you want MadVR then you'll need one of the players listed here:

    madVR

I used Zoom for a while. You can get the old free version here:

    Download zp1450free.exe - VideoHelp

No need to set as default media player (do not associate file types)

Install components to include Zoom Player Install Center.

LAV filters will be installed and configured. MadVR will run fine with default settings but you can tweak them via system tray icon for MadVR if you play a video. It only needs configuring once.

It's okay but I see much better playback quality using PotPlayer.

So you don't obtain PotPlayer from the vendor website? Check out the links below that discuss when adware was introduced to PotPlayer. If you get a clean PotPlayer installation file with no adware bundled, when the program is updated, is adware present in the updates?

I never get it from the vendor website. If you get it from there it's likely to be a non English version anyway. I ususally get it from FileHippo and disable auto update checks then install updates manually. I've been known to get it from SoftPedia sometimes.

The only adware I might have seen and I don't remember seeing it is optional software bundled with the installer that you can decline to install.

Here is what I see when I run the installer:

    The installer from here (64bit)

    Download Potplayer 64-bit 1.7.21146.0 for Windows - Filehippo.com

    or here (32bit)

    Download Potplayer 32-bit 1.7.21146 for Windows - Filehippo.com

Settings to disable updates then manually install versions when available. The .ini file option must be configured.

    From Daum PotPlayer forum:

PotPlayer • View topic - Forced McAfee in Update pack.. Will NEVER happen

Note: Personally I don't ever remember seeing this when running the installer. No PUP's have ever been installed. I guess it's users not paying attention.
