Suggestions on best "Search" utility. Accurate, deep, reliable

Friends I have used Search Everything for years, blissfully ignorant of the fact that it misses, fails to find, all files meeting the given criteria/filters. It is no secret that Windows 10/8/7 search function isn't reliable in that regard either - it will miss files and can be awfully slow at times.

What is the best Search Utility Money or Freebee can "buy"? "Best" meaning first of all accurate and thorough [can it defeat mis-set permissions for instance]. I am assuming [with actually zero evidence] that a so-called professional Forensics tool or kit would be in the top list but who knows... maybe they fail also and slide by because of users' convictions

Copernic has been around for quite a few years (commercial). Handles loads of file formats. Indexes content.

Of course you can try - er - searching for one..

done that homework. what I find is virtually zero independent 3rd party testing. Rather, marketeering, "convictions", financial incentives, echo chambering. Its a problem every which way because, as long as everything smells good on the outside, one never knows.... It is only hard failures that point out the deficiencies, and then who is going to squeak?

Back to Copernic. Give it a try. I used a giveaway some years ago.

That's if you want comprehensive content imaging - i.e. better than Windows search.

Also been around for years. (Ignore the funny name for that URL).

do you guys trust online 'mag' "Slant"?
anyway, interesting methods at work there with the community.
Copernic, despite its big name recognition doesn't rank at top, but to my chagrin having caught it "redhanded" in error, SearchEverything is their top rank.... Can't go back to trusting it

Yes, Agent Ransack which I haven't used for years is still viable it seems, DocFetcher, couple of other. the categories of file copy/move etc and 'Search' overlap to the point of blur

Just personal experience: I have used the native Windows search at least since Vista. It has rarely, if ever, failed to return the results I sought. And it has been very fast, especially since I now have an SSD drive for C: in Windows 10. I do realize that others have far more complicated search needs than do I, but Windows search has worked very well for me.
