    When I download Notepad++ all I get is advertising garbage.
    I never wanted ten and I seem to be justified in my opinion.
    It's just an advertising mill.
    Evidently I have a virus.
    Thought windows 10 to care of such nonsense.

    I just downloaded using the link provided here, got the .zip version, used File Explorer's Extract All, put it in the suggested folder and ran it. No install as Windows usually requires, makes it portable on a thumb drive. No ads seen.
